The state election department has made adequate arrangements to facilitate voting by blind and 100 per cent disabled persons, and said that no such person willing to vote would be deprived of his right.
Blind persons would be given a paper ballot with same serial numbers as on the EVM and after locating the position of any particular candidate, the blind person would be able to cast his vote in the EVM, Himachal Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Narinder Chauhan said.
The ballot paper would be in braille letters to make it easy for blind persons to read.
There are 1,148 registered blind voters and arrangements have been made in all the polling stations where they have been enrolled.
The 100 per cent disabled persons would be allowed helper for casting the vote and all 498 such voters can avail this facility.
Meanwhile, elaborate security arrangements have been made for rallies of BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi at Palampur, Mandi and Solan during his half-day visit to Himachal tomorrow.
As per tentative schedule, Modi would address the first rally at Palampur at 9.30 AM, second rally at Mandi at 11 AM and the last rally at Solan at 1.30 PM and then leave for Uttarakhand.
Modi had already addressed a rally at Sujanpur in the Hamirpur parliamentary constituency on February 16.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi would also address a rally at Kullu on May 4 while party vice president Rahul Gandhi would address meetings at Solan and Bilaspur May 1.
