Aditi Ashok shoots one-under, lies 56th in LPGA

Aditi Ashok did well to cope with the mix of rain and clouds in fairly cool temperatures to shoot one-under 71, lying tied 56th after the opening round of the inaugural LPGA Volvik Championship.
Aditi, who is playing her first season on the LPGA, is making her fourth start and has made cuts in three.
In what was a rather tough test, Aditi birdied both the par-fives on the front nine to turn in two-under and looked to have understood the conditions well.
On the back nine, she missed a par on par-4 13th, but must have felt disappointed at managing only pars on the par- fives at 14th and 18th.

She was tied 56th but six shots behind Stacy Lewis and Taipei's Wei-Ling-Tsu (65) who had two eagles in first five holes and was six-under through six holes after starting on the 10th. She had one bogey and then two further birdies on sixth and seventh, her 15th and 16th holes.
Lewis had six birdies, an eagle and one bogey in her 65 as she was the early leader before Wei caught up with her. Nelly Korda at six-under par and there was a group of five players at five-under par.
Brittany Lincicome, Ilhee Lee, Sung Hyun Park, Suzann Pettersen and Sarah Jane Smith sit in a tie for fourth at five-under par.
