Adopt uniform system to control explosives, says collector

East Godavari District Collector Neetu Prasad today directed the officials to adopt a uniform system to track explosives usage in the district.
She said that in view of the the recent firecracker unit explosion at Vakathippa which claimed more than 17 lives, adhering to rules of the Explosives Act was essential to prevent such incidents.
Periodical inspections were to be done by the police, as well as revenue and fire departments at the mandal level as well as divisional level, she said.
