Adulterated clarified butter, oil seized in raids in Kanpur

The district administration has seized huge quantity of adulterated clarified butter and edible oil from different areas of the city during raids to check adulteration in sweets ahead of the festival of Holi.
In the first instance, the district officials today raided a firm run by one Kripashankar Gupta in Juhi area, and seized 350 litres of adulterated ghee.
Additional City Magistrate Yogendar Kumar said the firm was selling adulterated ghee.
Earlier, the officials had raided an oil mill, N R Udyog, run by one Ramesh Sangla in Dadanagar yesterday, and seized 7,100 litres of adulterated oil.
He said the samples have been sent to laboratory.

Besides, the officials are conducting raids at sweet shops in the city and the campaign would continue till the festival of Holi.
