Agitation to brinbg six communities under Devendra Kulavelalar

Puthiya Tamizhakam (PT) has drawn a three-phased agitation beginning from November seven seeking to bring six castes under one community named Devendra Kulavelalar, on the lines of Thevar and Arundhatiyar.
Talking to reporters here today, PT founder-president and MLA, Dr K Krishnasamy said among the 76 sections in the Schedueld Caste list, people belonging to particular castes were brought under one head like Thevar, Nadar and Vanniyar.
Similarly, six sections--Pallar, Kudumba, Kaladi, Pannadi, Moopar and Devendra Kulathan, should be brought under one head of Devendra Kulavelalar and to exert pressure on both the Centre and State, a demonstraton will be held in front of the office of District Collectors across Tamil Nadu on November seven, he said.

The venue and dates of second and third phase would be decided later, he said, adding that the Government will not not lose and the community would not get any additional benefits, if brought under one name.
He also wanted to stop the system of giving retired IPS and IAS officers the posts of advisors.
