government clerk by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon in Bihar's Purnea district late last night.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Nishant Kumar Tiwary said the slain clerk Anup Sharma (35) was posted as a clerk with Agriculture department in Bhawanipur block of the district.
Sharma, a resident of Siwan district, was killed by a sharp weapon, he said adding the body of the deceased was recovered from Telyari village which is adjacent to the block headquarters office, SP said.
Police teams of Bhawanipur and Dhanaha Sub-Divisions are conducting raids to flush out the culprits, he said and added that the killing could be the outcome of personal enmity.
