AI Express suspends two flights from Oman to Kerala

Air India Express has temporarily suspended its two flights from Oman to Kerala, according to a media report.
The airline has suspended two services, Salalah- Thiruvananthapuram and Salalah-Cochin-Thiruvananthapuram from January 15 next year, the Times of Oman quoted a senior airline official at the Muscat Air India office as saying.
Air Indian Express has been operating three services to the Kerala sector from Oman.
"The two main reasons behind the temporary cancellation are that there was not much load from Salalah at that time and there was also unavailability of aircraft. There will be no change in the Salalah-Calicut flight services," the official said.

The travel agents in Oman were informed about the change in schedule on November 28 and they say they are returning payment received from customers.
According to the official, the cancellation of flights will be effective for only 45 days.

The airline rationalised its Oman-India flight routes on the Kerala sector from October 27 to offer more convenient connectivity to passengers.
As per the winter schedule announced on October 27, the airline began operating three extra flights from Calicut to Muscat, the capital of Oman.
Recently, the AI Express service from Salalah had received an award from Oman Airport Management Company.
