Air India has grounded a flight attendant after she accidentally deployed an emergency chute when a flight from Delhi landed in Mumbai.
The incident occurred when Air India 102 from Delhi to Mumbai landed on Monday at approximately 7:30 pm. On reaching the parking bay at the airport, the crew member deployed the chute.
The chute inflated into a catering van near the aircraft, however, there were no injuries.
The crew member has been grounded and will undergo a refresher training, said an Air India official on condition of anonymity.
The corrective measure was taken following an internal inquiry into the incident, the official added.
