AIADMK minister praises Sasikala
Handlooms minister O S Manian, while wrapping up his reply to the debate on the grants for his department, thanked former chief minister and late party supremo J Jayalalithaa for including him in the cabinet.
He also described Sasikala as an "embodiment of sacrifice" and the "general secretary" of AIADMK and thanked incumbent chief minister K Palaniswami.
Using a Tamil reference, he said Sasikala had "borne the burden" of AIADMK since the 1980s.
Sasikala's elevation as AIADMK chief has been since challenged in the Election Commission by the O Panneerselvam led Puratchi Thalaivi Amma faction of the ruling party.
