AIADMK student wing leader in Tuticorin S Saravanaperumal was being replaced by K Thangamuthu, an agricultural wing leader of the party, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and party supremo J Jayalalithaa said in a statement here.
"The party took the decision to replace Saravanaperumal on receiving certain inputs," the statement said.
Jayalalithaa had yesterday announced the names of V Maithreyan, K R Arjunan, T Rathinavel and Dr R Lakshmanan besides Saravanaperumal as the party nominees for the biennial polls.
Thirty four first preference votes are required for a candidate to be declared elected.
AIADMK is likely to woo legislators from other parties, including six dissident DMDK MLAs besides smaller allies like MMK and Puthiya Tamizhagam to win the fifth seat.
