The All India Forward Bloc today demanded declassification of all documents related to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose which are available with the Government of India.
"The manner in which Jawahar Lal Nehru handled the issue of Netaji's disappearance was always suspicious and mischievous," party general secretary Debabrata Biswas said in a statement.
He said that AIFB has always been claiming that Bose's death in the so-called air crash was a conspiracy.
It is unfortunate that the BJP-led NDA government is "also neither serious nor sincere to establish truth about Netaji." The Narendra Modi Government has not done anything in this direction so far.
The first NDA government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee after appointing the Mukherjee Commission of Enquiry did not make available many classified files to the Commission, Biswas said.
AIFB, he said, would organise a nation-wide movement and undertake legal and political steps to get all the documents relating to Netaji declassified and establish the truth.
The Intelligence Bureau files declassified recently said Bose's close relatives were spied upon for 20 years between 1948 and 1968. Nehru was Prime Minister for 16 of these 20 years.
