Railway Ministry on its various demands, All-India Railwaymen's Federation (AIRF) has decided to hold a stir and called a meeting next month to decide the date for the strike.
"Despite several reminders, railway authorities have failed to address the issues raised by us...We have called a general council meeting on September 13 here to decide the date of the strike," AIRF General Secretary Shiv Gopal Mishra said.
Scrapping of new pension scheme and removal of anomalies in Sixth Pay Commission are among their main demands, Mishra said.
"After the decision on the strike's date, we will give 45 days time to railways before going on strike," he said.
