Airshow on Biju Patnaik centenary

Indian Air Force (IAF) today showcased its breathtaking aerobatic skills as part of the birth centenary celebrations of legendary pilot-turned-politician Biju Patnaik.
Advance light helicopter formations by 'Sarang', formation aerobatics by Surya Kiran aircrafts and daredevil skydiving by Akash Ganga paratroopers displayed spectacular performances over Kathjodi riverbed near Khan Nagar.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Odisha Governor S C Jamir were among the large number of spectators.
The air show started at 10.45 AM with 'Sarang' advance light helicopter formations featuring six helicopters followed by 'Surya Kiran' formation aerobatics of IAF by ten fighter jets.
The paratroopers of 'Akash Ganga' kept the audience gazing for about an hour with tri-colour formation.
Abour 100 pilots, 10 IAF officials of aerobatics teams of Surya Kiran, Sarang aerobatics and Akash Ganga participated in the show with the six helicopters and ten fighter aircrafts.
At least 40 platoons (one platoon comprises of 30 personnel) of police force were deployed for the event.
