Ajay Dwivedi appointed as ONGC Director (Exploration)

Ajay Kumar Dwivedi has taken over as the Director (Exploration) of Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC), the nation's biggest oil and gas producer.
A post-graduate from Kanpur University, Dwivedi has been with ONGC for 34 years, holding key exploration-related assignments at different work centers, the company said in a press release here.
"Dwivedi has managed ONGC's prime exploration portfolios in Western Offshore: Kutch-Saurashtra, Mumbai Offshore and Kerala-Konkan Basin. Under his stewardship, Western Offshore Basin has achieved 109 million tonnes of oil plus oil equivalent gas including 4 discoveries," it said.

Indian academician elected VP-Asia Pacific of US' DSI
* Bhimaraya Metri has been elected as the Vice President- Asia Pacific of USA's Decision Sciences Institute (DSI).
Metri, a PhD from IIT Bombay is the first Indian to be on the board of DSI.
"DSI is a very prestigious institution of revered academicians and I am highly honored to be a part of it. This will provide me a bigger opportunity to contribute to the real issues of the society at a global level," he said.
Based in Houston, DSI is a professional organization of academicians and practitioners interested in application of quantitative and behavioral methods to problems of society.
Currently, Metri is the Dean of International Management Institute, Delhi promoted by industrialist Sanjeev Goenka.

*Southern India Engineering Manufacturers' Association (SIEMA) has bagged the award for being best Responsible Indian Business Management Organisation (BMO).
The award was given by the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Secretary Madhav Lal to SIEMA President V Lakshminarayanasamy at a function held at Delhi yesterday.
