People's satisfaction about the performance of the state government was more important than the satisfaction of its coalition partner as the people have voted the government to power with majority, Sudesh Mahato, President of AJSU Party, an ally in the Raghubar Das-headed Jharkhand government, said today.
"It hardly matters whether we (AJSU Party) are satisfied with the performance of the state government but people's satisfaction is more important as they voted the government to power," the former Deputy Chief Minister told a press conference here today.
To a query about the recent report published in Hindi daily that AJSU Party MLAs were not satisfied with the government and had served ultimatum to pull out of the government, Mahato denied it, stating that it was the creation of the media.
AJSU Party was functioning as bridge between the government and the people, he claimed elaborating that the party was apprising the government about the issues raised by the people.
Mahato, who was in the steel city to take part in Kolhan Divison meeting of Party's student wing here, said the party was gathering feedback from the people about government's performance to ensure that their aspiration are fulfilled.
The AJSU Party President, however, admitted that there could be a difference between regional party and the national party on issues.
As a regional party, if a issue was important for us, it did not mean the same for the national party like BJP, he clarified adding that his party has been raising issues in the interest of the state.
Citing the example of Residential Policy recently notified by the state government, Mahato said the government had addressed the amendment they had sought and included regional languages in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission examination.
