Akola: two get life sentence for murder
Shailesh Rathod (40) and Yashpal Jadhav (21) were convicted yesterday for the murder of Dnyaneshwar Wankhade, personal assistant of NCP leader Tukaram Birkad.
Sessions judge S G Deshpande also imposed a fine of Rs 1.5 lakh on each of them. Of the sum, Rs two lakh would be paid to the victim's wife.
The complainant as well as the eye witness turned hostile during the trial, but the judge relied on the circumstantial evidence to convict the duo.
On Nov 9, 2013 Dnyaneshwar was brutally murdered in a broad daylight.
