Akshay Kumar triumphs in MCC 6-Red snooker tourney

Uttar Pradesh cueist Akshay Kumar defeated Kamal Chawla, the current IBSF World 6-Red silver medalist and national no.2, by six frames to five on Sunday to win the title in MCC 6-Red all-India snooker tournament here.

In a match of fluctuating fortunes, India no.4 Kumar won 36-13, 15-58, 47-27, 0-35, 0-70, 6-36, 41-12, 20-62, 41-34, 41-1, 33-0.

Earlier in the semifinals, Chawla had beaten Pranit Ram Chandani (MCC) 33-26, 57-07, 41-21, 26-40, 39-51, 35-25, 50-0, 28-27 while Kumar had trounced Varun Kumar (MCC) 44-13, 65-0, 32-15, 38-25, 24-32, 50-16, 42-27.
