Non-BPL families who do not have gas connections in but are entitled to gas subsidy, may get Haryana government's assistance in getting loans from banks to get the connections, an official release said today.
The state government would soon initiate this process for arranging bank loans, and by October 2, 2018, all families will have gas connections in the state, it added.
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar with deputy commissioners and divisional commissioners through video-conferencing, here today, the official release said.
The loan for gas connection would be paid from the subsidy coming in the bank accounts of such consumers. Under the Ujwala Scheme, consumers belonging to the BPL (Below Poverty Line) and Socio Economic Caste Census (SECC) category are provided gas connections in the state free of cost.
Khattar directed the officers to launch a campaign at village level for releasing gas connections. Door to door surveys would be made to find eligible consumers.
Regarding the 'Paudhagiri' campaign, the chief minister said all the students from class 6 to 12 would plant a sapling in their vicinity.
Every school would have a nodal officer for this campaign which may be any teacher of that school, according to the release.
Khattar said the student who plants the sapling would get himself clicked with it and submit the photo to the concerned teacher for record purpose. After six months again the same student would get himself clicked with that plant.
The districts would send their reports to deputy commissioners about works done under this 'Paudhagiri' campaign. Khattar directed the deputy commissioners to encourage students of their districts for planting saplings in the premises of their homes.
