"A meeting, presided over by Justice Vineet Saran, was held in connection with yesterday's violence in Allahabad in which Principal Secretary (Home) Devashish Panda, ADG Law and Order Mukul Goyal and president and general secretary of High court bar association also took part," IG, Law and Order A Satish Ganesh said.
It was decided that Commissioner Allahabad B K Singh would probe into yesterday's violence between the advocates and the public, the IG said, adding that besides fixing responsibility for the incident it would also assess the losses.
It was also decided to set up a committee for ensuring proper flow of traffic around the high court in Allahabad, he added.
Yesterday, a woman died of 'shock' when she was trying to flee as violence broke out in the vicinity of the Allahabad High Court where advocates staging a roadblock clashed with a group of students.
The advocates were blocking the traffic on the busy Allahabad-Kanpur road to protest against the alleged assault on some lawyers.
