Former Finance Minister and CPI-M leader Thomas Issac today alleged in the assembly during debate on demands for grants that Kerala State Financial Corporation Director "accepted" a commission of Rs 20 lakh "on behalf" of Finance Minister K M Mani for sanctioning loan for a business venture.
Replying to the debate, Mani said the allegation has come to his notice and it would be examined. Necessary action would be taken after examining the charge, he said.
Issac alleged that KSFC Director Kottarakara Ponnachan had accepted a commission of Rs 20 lakh from a resort venture entrepreneur for sanctioning a loan. They had applied for a loan
of Rs 30 crores and received Rs 15 crore, he said.
Ponnachan had told the resort people that the amount was for the election fund of KC-M, the party of Mani, Issac said and demanded action on the matter.
Issac also claimed that he had video visuals to prove the allegation.
