Sharma will continue to support Alstom's businesses as Advisor with focus on the neighbouring countries of India and as a Board Member of several legal entities, Alstom said in a statement.
Basu will be reporting to Philippe Delleur, Senior Vice-President International Network.
He will also continue to head Alstom T&D India Limited as the Managing Director, in addition to his new role.
Rathin Basu is an Electronic Engineer. He started his career with NTPC in 1978 and then joined the Alstom Group's subsidiary Cegelec India in 1985.
