Aluminium up 0.1% on global trends, spot demand

Metal for delivery in current month traded higher by 0.09%

Aluminium prices rose by 0.13% to Rs 112.25 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions amid a firming trend overseas and rising spot demand.

Furthermore, increased demand at domestic spot markets also influenced prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in April rose by 15 paise, or 0.13%, to Rs 112.25 per kg in a business turnover of three lots.

The metal for delivery in current month traded higher by 10 paise, or 0.09%, to Rs 111.45 per kg in 199 lots.

Analysts said the rise in aluminium prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to a firming trend in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) and rising demand at spot markets here.
