Ambassador of Turkey to India Burak Akcapar is hopeful that Indian superstar Aamir Khan will choose Turkey to shoot his upcoming film.
"I met him (Aamir) and his wife (Kiran Rao) in Mumbai. We had a chat about the opportunity in Turkey on wrestling which is our national sport and something which we do very well. We've centuries-old of tradition of wrestling," Akcapar said here on the sidelines of the release of his book People's Mission to the Ottoman Empire: MA Ansari and the Indian Medical Mission, 1912-1913 here late last evening.
"His (Aamir's) next movie is on wrestling and Turkey will be an ideal spot and he agreed. I think he (Aamir) is looking into the options. I'm hopeful that he will choose (to shoot) the movie in Turkey," the Ambassador, who is also a Aamir fan, stated.
Akcapar had invited Aamir and his wife to come and shoot for "Dangal" in Turkey.
There is a lot of speculation about Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist's next project, "Dangal", which is based on the life of a wrestler and his daughters.
Incidentally, in last five years several Bollywood movies, such as "Race 2" (2013), Salman Khan's "Ek Tha Tiger" (2012), "Game" (2011), "Guru" (2007), "Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani" (2009) were shot in Turkey.
