Going the DU way, Ambedkar University has also kept the second cut-off high for admissions to its undergraduate programmes.
Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD), which over the years has remained an alternate for Delhi University aspirants from outside the capital, who could not meet the sky-high cutoffs, announced its second cut-off today with the marginal dip in the required percentage.
This year, hopefuls did not find relief in the first cut-off as AUD had increased its cutoff by as much as 5 per cent for general category and 15 per cent for SC candidates in many courses with Commerce students from outside Delhi requiring a perfect score if they want to apply for BA (Hons) with a major in English, Psychology, Sociology, Social Science and Humanities.
In the second cut-off, the commerce stream students from outside Delhi require 95 per cent marks for admission to Economics Honors. The reserved category seats for the course are already filled. Those from Science stream need 94 pc and Arts need 90 per cent.
Similarly, those from Delhi need 91 pc (commerce), 90 pc (Science) and 86 pc (Arts).
For admission to English honors, the required percentage for outside Delhi candidates are: commerce (97), science (96) and arts (92) and for Delhi candidates: commerce (94), science (93) and arts (89) per cent respectively.
The students must have secured 65 per cent marks in English for admission to the course.
The cut offs are comparatively low for the History course at 89 per cent for outside Delhi candidates and 82 for Delhi aspirants.
For mathematics, the cuts for the two categories are at 90 and 83 pc respectively. Here too, its mandatory to have 65 per cent marks in Maths in class XII examination.
