American museum displays precious Indian artworks in China

An exhibition of Indian cultural masterworks, including rare sculpted works of Lord Buddha, is being held by an American museum in north China's Shanxi province.
Los Angeles County Museum of Art is organising the exhibition - 'India's Universe' - in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province.
The exhibition, which began on April 29, will last till August 3, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
The news agency published pictures of rare sculpted works of Lord Buddha and carved metal statues of Hindu deity, arousing curiosity among art lovers as to how an American museum acquired such precious pieces of artworks from India.
