The filmmaker said he was not troubled by the status of Dev and Srabanti, who are the hit pair of the Bengali commercial film circuit, for his film based on a Samaresh Mazumdar story.
"I have a very different plan for the stars. Their stardom hardly matters to me. Dev has a certain innocence and a boyish look which appeals to my judgement," Roy, maker of National Award-winning film 'Antoheen' and 'Anuronan', told PTI.
He cited Srabanti, who did an intense and realistic portrayal of a young and carefree girl in 'Goynar Baksho' by Aparna Sen.
Dev said that after acting in off-beat 'Chander Pahar', this was his second such film.
Srabanti said, "Yes, I have been approached by Aniruddha, but I can't reveal anything more. I like his way of handling relationships. I am more than excited."
Shooting of the film will begin in July.
