Some new features and events will be added this year to make the festival more vibrant and interesting for which the District collector NL Meena gave directions to officials concerned in a meeting yesterday.
The meeting was attended by the officials of the tourism department, district administration, police and other local agencies.
"It will be our endeavour to make the festival more colourful so that large number of tourists can come and enjoy the festival.
Thousands of foreigners as well as domestic tourists participate in the festival.
Interesting competitions like turban tying, moustaches, camel decoration and tug-of-war, among others are held in the festival.
The festival will begin on February 1 with a colourful procession from Gardissar pond.
Events will be held in Shaheet Poonam Singh stadium and Dedasar ground and it will culminate on February 3 on Sam dunes.
