A complaint was today lodged against Shankaracharya of Dwaraka Peeth Swaroopananda Saraswati, accusing him of hurting religious sentiments by his alleged remarks against Saibaba, police said here.
Representatives of the Shirdi Sai Trust, which runs a Saibaba Temple at Saroor Nagar here, approached the police and filed a complaint over the alleged remarks made by the Shankaracharya against Saibaba, Saroor Nagar Police Inspector B Naveen Reddy said.
"We have sought legal opinion over the complaint which said the Shankaracharya has hurt their religious sentiments through his comments...No case has been registered so far," the police official told PTI.
Similar complaints were filed earlier also against the Shankaracharya in Shirdi (Maharashtra) and Indore (Madhya Pradesh).
