It is tradition that on behalf of State Government, the Chief Minister presents silk sarees on the eve of Dasara every year and particularly on the day of 'Mulanakshatram' - the birth day of the goddess.
Naidu performed 'pooja' inside the sanctum sanctorum.
The Chief Minister told reporters that he has sought blessings of the goddess for successful construction of the new capital 'Amaravati' without any hurdles.
He also said 'a master plan will be prepared for the development of Kanaka Durga temple'.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay foundation stone of the new AP capital on October 22. The AP government is aiming to make the programme a grand one.
