AP govt to construct 5.50 lakh personal toilets

Andhra Pradesh government would construct 5.50 lakh personal toilets in 110 municipalities and corporations in the state in a few months, Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana today said.
Narayana, who held a meeting in Vijaywada said the toilet construction work would be taken up by involving self-help groups, a government release said.
The municipal administration department plans to complete the construction of 2.50 lakh toilets in about 45 days from now, it said.
The construction of the remaining three lakh toilets would be taken up in the second phase, the minister added.
