Three auspicious days are available during that period for the purpose and the foundation would be laid on one of those days, state Labour Minister K Atchannaidu told reporters here tonight after a meeting of the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Some have suggested that a suitable auspicious day is not available for several months if not in June, he said.
The construction works can start from the Dussera festival (in October) once the detailed reports on plans for the capital are received, he said.
The cabinet decided to shift government offices from Hyderabad to the Vijayawada-Guntur region, depending on administrative and other convenience, and suitable government buildings would be identified for the purpose, the minister said.
The cabinet sub-committee, formed for the purpose, would go into the issue.
The government shares Hyderabad as its capital with Telangana for 10 years as per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
The government decided to observe a 'Nava Nirmana Deeksha' (vow for re-construction) on coming June 2.
The government would explain its development and welfare programmes to the people on the occasion.
