AP's excise revenue down by 6.65 per cent in Q1, says Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said the excise revenue dropped 6.65 per cent in first quarter this year to Rs 698.35 crore as compared to the corresponding period last year.
The excise revenue in the first quarter of last year was Rs 747 crore.
However, in July this year, excise revenue receipts rose by 37.8 per cent at Rs 809.96 crore compared to Rs 587.79 crore in the same period of the previous year.
Naidu this evening reviewed the state excise policy with the senior government officials and the state Revenue Secretary Ajay Kallam.
An official release said that the adulteration of liquor has declined significantly at the retail outlets after the government decided to manage 10 per cents of outlets in the state.
The state government has established 428 retail outlets which are clocking an average sale of Rs 1.29 crore per day.
