Senior engineering officials of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Tuesday discussed transferring water from the Godavari river to Krishna for the benefit of the two states and otherrelated issues.
The issue of water sharing was broadly discussed, identifying the requirements of the states, and it was agreed to hold further discussions next week, according to officials.
The meeting came in the wake of recent decision of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his AP counterpart Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to work for resolving pending issues between the two states, including sharing river water.
Though five years have passed since the bifurcation of undivided Andhra Pradesh, a number of issues, including sharing of assets and liabilities and also river water, had remained unsolved, which prompted the two CMs to work for addressing them.
