Approver in assault case turns hostile

During his deposition before First Additional Sessions Court Judge K Dakshinamurthy, he alleged that the then Superintendent of Police Prem Kumar, who was investigating the Sankararaman Murder case, in which the Seer is the main accused, had intimidated him and forced him to turn approver.

Subramaniam claimed that initially he had refused to turn approver, but it landed him in a cell.

Radhakrishnan, his wife and an attendant were attacked by a gang in his city residence on September 20, 2002.

The assault case was taken over by a Special Investigation Team and 11 persons have been cited in the chargesheet. Trial commenced in February last.

The trial has been adjourned to July 13.
