Aravindh held to draw by Visakh in National U-13 chess

Visakh, with 5.5 points, shares the top spot with state-mate Aravindh Chithambaram and Ritviz Parab of Goa, while 10 other players remain half a point behind the leaders.
The top board Sicilian game saw both the players fighting for the initiative.
Aravindh slowly improvised his position and gained a protected passer in a tactical shot. Visakh was up to the task and held fort with his advanced knight. He fetched a draw after 41 moves.
In the girls section, top seeded National Under-11 champion, R Vaishali of Tamil Nadu maintained her cent per cent record after beating Shiny Das of Tripura.
The win has put Vaishali on top of the table with 6.0 points. A full point behind at 5.0 were Masters, Savant Riya of Goa and Tejaswini Sagar of Maharashtra.
