Azeezuddin, a native of Pune, and Lucknow resident Azeez Ahmad were arrested by the Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh Police on June 2, 1999.
An AK 47 rifle along with 96 cartridges were recovered from the possession of the arrested person, who during interrogation told police about six of their accomplices, IG (law and order) R K Vishwakarma told reporters here.
He said a case of sedition was lodged against eight persons at Hazratganj police station in this regard and police have filed a charge sheet in CJM court in Lucknow.
