Based on intelligence inputs, personnel of Rashtriya Rifles, Territorial Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police of police station Chasana in a joint operation seized a cache of arms and ammunition in Durimarari area in Chasana of the district, an army officer said.
It included one AK-56 rifle, one UBGL, one magazine of AK-56 rifle, 71 rounds of AK-47 rifle, nine rounds of SMG, one radio set and other war-like stores, he said.
The timely recovery of arms and ammunition by the Army has prevented any untoward incident in the region and thwarted the evil designs of the terrorists, the officer said, adding Army has been continuously carrying out operations in the area "to break the backbone of militancy".
