Lt Gen Gyan Bhushan, Commander SW Command, received the Army chief, who was accompanied by his wife Bharti Singh, at the Jaipur military station, a defence spokesperson said.
During the visit, the Army Chief interacted with officers of the military station and impressed upon them to inculcate high standards of professionalism in the interest of the nation.
Singh also visited 61 Cavalry, horsed cavalry regiment and interacted with all ranks of officers, JCSs and Jawans.
Bharti Singh, who is also the president of Central Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) interacted with the families and thanked them for supporting the implementation of welfare schemes through AWWA.
The Army Chief is retiring on May 31.
