Sepoy Shrikant Tukaram went missing on the night of July 6 with his INSAS rifle, three magazines and 60 rounds from the Army camp, SSP, Udhampur, Anil Magotra said.
On a complaint lodged by Army, a case has been registered last evening and search to track him is going on, Magotra said.
Tukaram belongs to Maharashtra and is a jawan of 874 Battalion of Army.
Police in his home state and all the police stations in the state have been informed about him and efforts are being made to trace him, the SSP said.
