Army JCO killed after his rifle goes off accidentally

A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the army was today killed when his service rifle went off accidentally inside a camp in Kupwara district of north Kashmir, officials said.
JCO Jai Prakash Singh, posted with 30 Rashtriya Rifles, was on duty inside the camp at Langate area of Handwara, 80 kms from here, when a bullet from his service rifle pierced his head, the officials said.
They said Singh was immediately given medical aid and was later shifted to army base hospital here for specialised treatment but succumbed to his injuries.
The officials said preliminary investigations revealed that the JCO's rifle went off accidentally, causing his death.
