"Army Public School Srinagar at Badami Bagh Cantonment opened for Classes IX to XII on September 18 and Classes I to VIII on September 24," the spokesman said.
While restoration of main school building has started on a war-footing, classes are presently being run from an alternate accommodation provided within the Cantonment by Army, he said.
"Top priority has been given to restoration of the School. The management's aim is to ensure that students do not miss classes at this critical juncture, especially those who are to appear for their Board examinations shortly," the spokesman said.
Nearly 500 students have started attending school and more than 80 per cent of teaching and administrative staff has also reported for duty, he said, adding, the Principal has requested all other students and staff members to rejoin the school at the earliest.
