A powerful IED was recovered from a house at Tamulpur in Assam's Baksa district by the Army on Sunday, Defence sources said.
Acting on a tip-off troops of the 5 Gorkha Regiment recovered the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) of approximately 8 kg kept in a black plastic bag from the house of Tariful Islam, the sources said.
The IED was defused by the Army Bomb squad in the play ground of Deulkuchi High school, the sources said.
The army detained Tariful Islam and his brother Nur Mahammad as the IED was recovered from their house.
