Army treats 305 people at medical camp in J&K

Army has come forward to the rescue of 305 people who live in the far-off areas in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir by providing them with free medical facilities.
"A medical camp was organised by 63 Rashtriya Rifle Battalion under aegis of Reasi-based Headquarters at remote village of Beena in Reasi district," Udhampur based defense spokesman Col S D Goswami said.
He said that the camp witnessed a huge response from the people of the area as people from adjacent villages also came to attend the camp which included prominent members of civil administration and number of Numbardar, Panchs and Sarpanchs.

"A team of Army and civil doctors along with Nursing Assistants attended the patients arriving in the camp. A total 305 patients which include 152 men, 78 women and 75 children were provided free medical advice and free medicines by the army," Goswami said.
He said that the patients were examined and the critical cases were referred to Community Health centre Kalakote for further treatment.
"The residents of the various villages expressed their gratitude towards Indian Army for taking care of the health of people who were badly affected by the recent heavy rainfall in the state," he said.
He said that the patients who were treated in the camp also requested to increase the frequency of such camps in the area.
