'Article 370 obstacle in integration of JK with rest of India'

An organisation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits today demanded revocation of Article 370, saying it is a major hindrance in the "emotional integration" of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of the country.
"Time has come for the removal of Article 370...It has been a major stumbling block in the emotional integration of the state with the rest of India," Panun Kashmir president Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo told reporters here today.
He said the law, which grants special autonomous status to JK, has created feelings of separatism among a certain section.
"The Article has helped radicalise the thinking amongst a section of population that Kashmir is a supra-separate entity. The nationalist forces in the state have been marginalised as a consequence of this temporary article," he alleged.
