Arunachal tableau for R-Day function gets green signal from

The Arunachal Pradesh government tableau for participation in the the Republic Day function in New Delhi has received the green signal from the Defence Ministry, officials said here Thursday.

Altogether 32 states and Union territories had sent their tableaus for selection for the R-Day function, out of which only 14 tableaus representing 14 states have been selected by the expert committee.

Only Sikkim and Arunachal have selected from the North-East states, they said.

Art expert of the Information and Public Relations (IPR) department Dhruba Bhattacharjee and his team of artists prepared the tableau with the theme 'Peace Within', as instructed by the Defence ministry that all the tableaus should be on Gandhiji or Gandhiji-related, an official release said.

An expert committee is appointed to select the tableaux from amongst the participating states of the country.

After selection also, the ministry gives instructions for changes and modifications at various stages.
