ASI held as arms missing in police store

An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) has been arrested for missing of three weapons from the ammunition storage dump in the new court complex here, police said today.
ASI Surinderjit Singh, in-charge of the storage dump , was found negligent in duty as two .32 bore revolvers and a pistol were found missing during the inspection of the storage yesterday, Senior Superintendent of Police Opinderjit Singh Ghumman said.
These weapons were recovered from anti social elements by the police recently, he said.
A case has been registered against the ASI, he added.
