The scheme 'Bill Banvao, Inaam Pao (Get a bill and earn award) is an initiative by the Department of Trade and Taxes to encourage customers to buy from registered dealers in the capital.
Purchases of goods, whose taxable value is at least Rs 100, would be considered for the award.
"The purchaser can upload the bill on the department's website or they may take a snapshot of the bill and send on the designated number of the department through whatsapp. A unique id would be generated for each bill and sent to the customer via SMS," an official statement said.
Winners would be selected through a computerized draw of lots using the unique ids generated against each bill received by the department.
According to the scheme, the prize amount would be five times the taxable value of the goods purchased in the bill subject to a maximum of Rs 50,000.
