Commander of 9 Sector Assam Rifles and Commandant of 45 Assam Rifles met community representatives and village headmen of Sawombung village yesterday.
The difficulties and turmoil faced by the innocent civilians due to flash bandhs imposed at odd hours without prior information was discussed during the meeting which was attended by over 50 civilians from different villages including village heads and secretaries, officials said.
In the meeting it was emphasised that a secure environment is essential for collective growth of the state.
Six Assam Rifles personnel were killed in an ambush by insurgents in Chandal district on May 22.
