Assembly bypoll in Arunachal

The Election Commission today announced that bye-election to Dambuk assembly constituency in Arunachal Pradesh will be held on October 31.
Announcing the schedule of the bypoll, the EC said the notification setting in motion the poll process would be issued on October 7 and the last date for making nominations is October 14.
After scrutiny the next day, the last date for withdrawal of candidatures is October 17.
Counting of votes is billed for November 4.
The electoral rolls of Dambuk (ST) Assembly constituency have been revised with reference to January 1, 2013 as the qualifying date and have been finally published on January 15, 2013.

With the announcement of poll dates for the bypoll, the Commission said the model code of conduct would be enforced with immediate effect.
