Acting on a tip-off, a police team laid a trap and caught the official identified as Jaikumar Shrivastava posted at Sagaon Janpad Panchayat in the district as he accepted Rs 10,000 from deputy sarpanch Dayaram Patidar, Lokayukta's Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) B S Parihar told reporters.
Shrivastava demanded money for examining the muster-roll and construction work related bills, Parihar said.
A case was registered against the engineer under relevant sections of the Anti-Corruption Act.
